Weave Description Trying to make a chainmail for my replica of a Persian kulah-khud aventail with a light Japanese weave (searchs on professional literature say they used only the 1-4 or 1-6 Euro pattern, but saracens used open patterns). I tried logically with poor ratio to improve the simple Etruscan Maille-Japanese mail to close the free rooms between efficiently contra pointed weapons. Closing free rooms in one line comes to a semi-permeable weave equal to Magemaille. Step two by crossing the the half-openings orthogon(90'). The outcome is a flower structure elastic and stronger than European 4 in 1. Magus Weave by KendallNightblade is very similar, though differs in diagonal crossings. (Greetings to him, I swear I get the similar light independently). My great Persian chainmail was ready in Nov. 2006 after two months work. Butted rings equal sized 8mm x 1.2mm harden carbon steel.
