Helm Flower

Weave Description
This is a simple variant of Helm Chain, linked into a continuous loop. The trick is to use ring sizes that allow you to fold the chain into a sort of stiff cup.

The large outer rings stabilize the "cup" and complete the flower look. I used 18g 1/4" and 20g 5/32" rings for the helm chain, and 16g 3/8" rings for the flower part.

The finished piece should be completely stiff - I used small supporting rings underneath to keep the 3/8" rings from sliding down.

The fun thing about this weave is the hole in the center - I put a bead in there, but it would look pretty cool with a single spike too.
