Japanese 3 in 1
Also referred to as 'Oriental 3 in 1'. This weave has two ring types, and each vertical ring connects to two horizontal ones, while each horizontal ring passes through three vertical ones.
The sample displayed uses galvanized steel rings made from .062" (1.57mm / 16 SWG) wire wrapped on 5/16" (7.94mm) mandrel. With a measured ID of .332" (8.43mm) these rings bear an AR of 5.4. This is a very large AR for this weave.
Provided the same wire size is used for both ring types, the minimum AR for this weave is 2.0, and 2.2 for the vertical and horizontal rings, respectively.
