Hilt Wind Wyrm
Weave Description Hilt Wind Wyrm (HWW) inserts quasi-captive rings through sets of rings in each cell of Hilt Chain. It's a similar transition as seen with Wind Wyrm forming from Full Persian 6 in 1, except in this case, the center rings must be larger than the Hilt Chain rings. The sample displayed contains 2 center rings in each cell which have a 1.7 larger AR. The weave (Hilt Chain) is 6 rings around, allowing for 12 potential connection points. Each center ring added passes through 1, around 1 (x6) making it fully symmetrical like Hilt Thunder Wyrm (HTW) (through 2, around 2 (x3)). If the center rings alternate which Hilt Chain rings are passed through with each cell, the result is Hilt Earth Wyrm (HEW). This weave is also related to Hilt Fire Wyrm (HFW). The sample uses .048" (18SWG / 1.2mm) stainless steel, 3/8" (9.53.mm) mandrel, (.435" ID, AR of 9.1 (Hilt Chain), and 7/16" (11.1mm), (.520" ID, AR of 10.8) (center rings). With only 1 quasi-captive ring per cell, this can be weaved into a slightly flexible chain with AR of 8.7, AR of 10.3.
