Hilt Fire Wyrm

Weave Description
Just as Fire Wyrm inserts quasi-captive rings through opposing sets of rings in each cell of Full Persian 6 in 1, Hilt Fire Wyrm (HFW) does the same with the triplicate Hilt Chain weave. The center rings require a larger overall diameter. I find that an increase of about 2.6 - 3.0 over the cage rings to be sufficient, regardless of the number of quasi-captives per cell, with the sample picture showing the weave with three.

The weave (Hilt Chain) is 6 rings around, allowing for 12 potential connection points. Center rings in HFW pass through 2, around 4 (x2). Related to the fully symmetrical Hilt Thunder Wyrm (HTW), which has the center rings pass through 2, around 2 (X3), and, Hilt Wind Wyrm (HWW), which uses the through 1, around 1 (X6) configuration.

The sample uses .048" (18SWG / 1.2mm) stainless steel, 11/32" (8.73mm) mandrel, (.397" ID, AR of 8.3 (Hilt Chain), and 29/64" (11.5mm), (.535" ID, AR of 11.1) (center rings).

Using 1 or 2 quasi-captive rings per cell, this can be weaved down to about AR of 7.4, AR of 9.9, which is the approximate minimum.

[Not to be confused with Hilt Thunder Wyrm, which was named Hilt Fire Wrym from Sept. 2013 - Jan. 2016.]
