DescriptionThis is a cutter I made up for cutting soft metals such as aluminum and copper. For cutting any type of harder metal (i.e. stainless steel), a new blade will be required. I made the intake for the coil with aluminum brackets and steel 90 degree bar stock. The intake mechanism has a slot cut into the top where the blade sits. This allows for adjustment of the depth in which you want to cut. I am using a drill for cutting the links. i tried to use a dremel but it wasn't powerful enough. It works great and fast. You have to keep the blade oiled well for it to cut fast but I went through 3 pounds of 14 gauge aluminum in 30 minutes. I hope this can help anyone who wants to cut their own coils. :)Weave(s) Used (Click to View Weave)NoneImages Tags (Click to Search Gallery)Tag(s): Saw, Setup, Tools |
