Description3 Hourglass Dodecahedrons.singled, doubled and tripled inner ("horizontal") rings (inside the triangles). All three assembled of .048" (1.22mm) wire. Single: Stainless steel 19/64" (7.54mm) mandrel .334" ID AR of 7.0 This nears the minimum single ring size AR for this version. AR of 6.8 won't work, but AR of 6.9 might. Even decreasing the AR to 6.8 for just the pairs of outside rings like I did with the double version wouldn't work, and yet this still has a small amount of slink. Double: Stainless steel, brass, bronze 5/16" (7.94mm), 9/32" (7.14mm), 5/16" (7.94mm) mandrel .355", .318", .350" ID AR of 7.4, AR of 6.6, AR of 7.3 Originally all outside rings were 7.4, but it was much too loose. Replaced with AR of 6.6 brass: easier to keep track of when swapping all 60 rings. Spere still has some slack. Later the single ring size minimum was found to be an AR of 7.1. Triple: Nickel silver 21/64" (8.33mm) mandrel .369" ID AR of 7.7 This is the single ring size minimum AR for this version. Diameters of spheres: 1-7/8", 2", 2-1/4" Observations: During construction, a tendency of one of the orbital rings on exposed hourglass unit end to slip past the one beside it is experienced. The ring doesn't come out if you pull it, and you have to shift other rings around to dislodge it. Once fully assembled it's fine.
