DescriptionTetra Orb is a simple 3D unit that contains only 16 rings.
4 rings make up its tetrahedron core.
6 orbital rings orb it.
(technically they cube it, but I couldn't pass up the opportunity :D)
6 protruding rings complete the orbital connections.
Bright aluminum .080" (2.03mm) wire
7/16" (11.1mm) mandrel
.477" ID, AR of 6.0
This is the single ring size minimum AR.
Maintaining the same size for each ring type, outside rings can be doubled starting at an AR of 6.2, or tripled in an AR of 6.6 at least.
This unit can be repeated to expand into a square sheet with Japanese 4 in 1 tessellation as TOT Sheet, or dimensionally using Japanese 4 in 1 Cube expansion style as TOT Cube. Note: this only applies if the protruding rings are doubled.
Open, web-like tessellation options are available as well. Sequential linking of units yields certain chains, There are about 10 weaves in the library containing these units excluding the Unit’s entry.
