DescriptionA web wrapped around a 6 inch diameter antique glass lobster buoy. The links are 1/4 hard 314 stainless steel, 5/16 ID 14awg. It's made from a simple Mobius chain (2 links per unit instead of the typical 3) from which I constructed a spherical web. While I would have liked to have made the entire web from hexagons, the pattern just didn't lend itself to a perfect sphere at the proper diameter to enwrap the buoy. But I did start with 2 hex pattern, one for the top and one for the bottom. Each hex is 18 units in circumference: 3 units for each of the 6 sides. I started with one hex at the bottom/top, then a row of 6 hexes around each, followed by a row of 12 hexes, then I simply connected the corners of those 12 hexes of the top pattern with vertical chains to the corners of the bottom pattern.Weave(s) Used (Click to View Weave)Mobius ChainImages Tags (Click to Search Gallery)Tag(s): Accessories, Antique, Art, Ball, Ornament, Stainless Steel, WrapWeave(s): Mobius Chain |
