DescriptionUsing small scales (any metal) the turbine must be woven by using steel or titanium jump rings. There is a lot of tension in the finished piece and softer metals will simply bend open when you try to close up the piece. There is a European 4 in 1 construction between the scales and the welded ring. The back is then cinched up either with 1) A variety of overlapping Euro 4 in 1-style closures (if you can get them to fit) or 2) As many rings as you can use to connect two scales side by side. If you use a TRL 10swg 1.5 inch welded ring, it will use 13 scales and 3-5 cinching rings in the back to keep its shape - this number will vary based on imperfections on the holes stamped in the scales. The rings that connect the scales to the large welded ring are 16swg 5/16" and the cinching rings are 16swg 1/4". (Note: The small rings on the outside edge are decorative 16swg 3/16", and do not contribute to the structural integrity.)
