DescriptionThe Japanese 12 in 2 weave with one captive ring inserted into each triangular opening.
As with Japanese 8 in 2 Captive 1, this weave is very ring size-specific. Each of the three ring sizes will be dependent on the other two. It is also a somewhat difficult weave to start because the captive rings tend to fall out until a large enough piece is established.
Ring sizes used in the sample:
The same wire diameter was used for each ring size: .048" (1.2mm / 18SWG) in stainless steel and bronze.
The horizontal rings in the J12-2 are 1/4" (6.35mm) mandrel (.278" ID, AR of 5.8)
The vertical rings in the J12-2 are 3/16" (4.76mm) mandrel (.207" ID, AR of 4.3)
The captive rings are 21/128" (4.17mm) mandrel (.180" ID, AR of 3.75)
