Oops. Yes, that's what it's called, unfortunately. A technical description of this weave is European 4-in-1 Unbalanced. Instead of one ring going through two rings on each side, one ring goes through three rings on one side and one ring on the other, then the next ring switches sides with the three to one construction. The result is a weave with a zig zag grain.
E4-in-1U can't quite be done with all the same rings that regular European 4 in 1 can. The weave is much (emphatically much, even) denser/tighter than E4-in-1. Using an equal number of identical rings on each weave should produce a sample of E4-in-1U that is noticeably shorter and slightly wider than the E4-in-1 sample, as can be seen in this gallery entry.
The sample shown here is very tight. There is minimal stretch across the grain, so minimal, I'm not even going to try and measure it. With the grain I can compress it to about 5.25" and stretch it to about 6.5". I do not believe you can get much smaller with the AR and still be able to continuously weave E4-in-1U.
