DescriptionThis is a small XMas ornament, woven from an 'Isolated Byzantine Orthogonal Helm' six-segment chain to a closed circle, to become a snow flake shape. The weave emerged as a modification of 'Isolated Byzantine' - the latter is basically a Byzantine double cage unit without outer connectors, but suspended by a large ring - the base unit was recently shown by Den Parente on Facebook.Rings used are 18swg (1.2mm) BA coiled on 3/16" and 9/32" mandrels (AR~4.2 and ~6.4), and blue AA 16swg (1.6mm) coiled on 3/8" mandrel (AR~6.4); alternatively the latter could also be 18swg 3/8" (AR~8.6). If the ARs don't want to fit, the number of the base unit's central Byzantine connector rings can be varied to one if too tight, or three if too loose.
