Description

This is a sample of the Japanese Dragonscale weave made out of stainless steel rings of .048" (1.22mm/18SWG) wire wrapped on mandrels sized 9/64" (3.57mm) and 9/32" (7.14mm). Measured inner diameters and resulting aspect ratios are .157" (3.99mm) (AR of 3.3) and .316" (8.03mm) (AR of 6.6).

The weave at this AR combination is quite inflexible, lending to having much potential in structural applications.
