DescriptionA picture of shaft 12 of the coal mine Zollverein in Essen/Germany. The Zollverein-pit was one of the biggest mines in the Ruhrarea when it started its production in 1851. The shaftsite 12 - opened in 1932 - was one of the most modern mines in the world and immediately after the closure in 1986 it became a monument.
