DescriptionThe very first item in chainmail I've ever created. Built in 2001 using nothing more than 24 regular wire coathangers, and two pairs of pliers. No dowels, no way to gauge sizes, just a lot of trial and error. I had no clue how to make chainmail at the time, so was just "winging it"... thus there are a number of mistakes here and there. Unintended expansions/contractions, countless poor closures due to the way the rings were cut, and mis-sized rings, due to the lack of dowel. I estimate the rings to be 9/16" ID, and a coathanger I think is about 12-gauge coated mild steel. The weave is Euro4. Now I hold onto it purely for sentimental reasons.Weave(s) Used (Click to View Weave)European 4 in 1Images Tags (Click to Search Gallery)Tag(s): Armour, Gloves, HandWeave(s): European 4 in 1 |
