DescriptionThis is (sort of) why I started learning maille--I was hoping to find a way to add a stiffening edge to a piece of wire lace after the lace had been made, so that it could be used safely as a pendant. This piece of mechlin lace (made in 0.1 mm and 0.17 mm silver and silver-plated wire) has been edged with Four Quarters Persian (on the left side) and FP 6-1 , with the corners turned using two links of hp 3-1. The maillework is done with awg 22 ga copper craft wire, ID between 3.5 and 4 mm. I was concentrating more on whether the idea would work than on having perfect flush cuts and closures. The lace isn't perfect either !Weave(s) Used (Click to View Weave)Four Quarters Persian, Full Persian 6 in 1, Half Persian 3 in 1Images Tags (Click to Search Gallery)Tag(s): OtherWeave(s): Four Quarters Persian, Full Persian 6 in 1, Half Persian 3 in 1 |
