DescriptionBoth these chains are bronze from TRL and yet the colour is different. The wire for the chain on the right was ordered in the late summer (July/August) of 2005 while the bronze wire on the left was ordered in September 2005. The scan is not that good but the bronze on the right is a dark brown and is the colour of bronze statues and olympic bronze medals. The bronze on the left is orange (not as deep an orange as pure copper though) has a gold undertone and is not as strong (though both wires are supposedly 1/2 hard). This is definitly not a mistaken order since i've ordered 18 ga and 16 gauge bronze since then and they have also been the newer, orange type. This is not a corrosion issue since both chains were cleaned before being scanned (the darker chain is a bit dull compared to the other though). I personally prefer the old variety but using both types could have good use for "ghost" inlays. Both are roundmaille, 20g, 1/8th ID.Weave(s) Used (Click to View Weave)RoundmailleImages Tags (Click to Search Gallery)Tag(s): Bronze, Jewellery, NecklaceWeave(s): Roundmaille |
