loop definition: a straight 2 in 1 chain of 3 rings or more where the first and the last rings are connected to each other.

rules: hard torus. unbending, not stretchy, not like a rope or knot.

loops can be balanced like this:

or loops can be unbalanced like this:

when a loop is unbalanced, it is naturally right handed or left handed. loops can be twisted in intervals of .5 turns. so, for example, when there are 5 rings in a loop, there is no way to have whole number turns. the turns must be (.5, 1.5, 2.5, or 3.5). here is an example of a 5 ring loop with .5 turn:

mathematically, the number of turns must be lower than the number of rings. this is a universal limit in 3 dimensions.

any questions? should i make this into an article?

I would say yes, make this into an article. Articles about weave theory are important, and there are none on m.a.i.l. that cover this.

There is no such thing as weave ownership. If someone produces a weave sample, they own that physical piece of mail, but not rights to the weave pattern itself.
