hello , i am new to the webpage , new to chain mailing in general and i am attempting to create a chain mailing webpage where i can attempt to sell my products .

im wondering , what are the rules / regulations for using images from the M.A.I.L. webpage ? i would like to use the high detail images from the webpage to show what style of weaves are within that category . images of the product itself will be taken by me , im simply looking for "store front window" images .

Taken from the footer here. Scroll down, way down.

"All web content © 2000-2012 The Maille Artisans International League (M.A.I.L.). Articles, Weaves, Links, and Gallery submissions are the property of the author(s), and any reproduction requires their express written permission."

Which means, you would have to get permission from each respective image owner.

Hope this answers your question.

Not much more to add. Make your own samples, take their photos and show these. Grabbing and using other people's photos will bring you in trouble - inevitably.

Human societies are like chain mail.
A single link will be worth nothing.
A chain is of use, but will break at the weakest link.
A weak weave will have the need to replace weak links.
A strong weave will survive even with weak links included.

I would consider using examples of other peoples work to sell yourself as fraud even if you had permission. I'm not accusing you as it sounds as if you haven't used any but just my hypothetical opinion. I would think linking to anything on here for reference would be okay.

As djgm said, any images of what you sell should be your own. Customers need to see the quality of your work, not the quality of someone else's work. If you just want to give an idea of what a specific weave looks like, providing a page link from MAIL is fine.

I'd be totally fine with someone using an image from my gallery as long as credit is given back to me and the borrower don't claim it as his. I agree with what everyone else have written though. You SHOULD post images of what you've made yourself and only link here to give a basic idea of weaves/objects.
