I am currently in the process of cleaning and rebuilding my grandfathers old pocket watch which he has had for many decades. The chain is worn out with minor damaged and should be replaced. Soooo.....

Anyone here have any recommendations for a weave that will look and function nicely as a pocket watch chain?

(As an aside, I will probably make the chain in AA given the color of the watch.)

Thanks!

Always a fan of Cane Cane Cord for long chains. If you want it thinner or have a small AR you could go for JPL instead.

Oh Wow! That CCC looks great! That is definitely a weave to consider.

3 in 1 chain works very well for a pocket chain.
I use mine every day and I'm very happy with it.

I would vote for Jens Pind Linkage I had a wallet chain made of that and I just love it.

Sandstone

I used it for a lanyard cord once and it came out great. Pocket watch chain serves a similar function and would likely work well.

Sandstone looks appropriate. I would also like to vouch for another that just came to mind: X-Weave.

if i had a pocket watch I would put this chain on it http://www.mailleartisans.org/gallery/gallerydisplay.php?key=7899
but as i said in the chain wallet thread the criteria here is really just that it be a chain, any chain.

Wow! I am amazed with how many choices there are to pick from. I think I will make a few different chains and then select the one which looks best. Thanks for your help everyone!
