I want to suggest "Left and Right Hand Weaves". There are quite a few, actually, and it would be interesting to see what everyone comes up with.

So, in the spirit of my previous comment, some "thematic" themes.

Theme: The Elements
(this could be the elements of the periodic table; archaic elements such as Earth, Air, Fire, Water; the elements as in weather, etc)

Theme: Love & War

Theme: Nature

Craft isn't cheaper than therapy, but it's more fun.

I second "weave you haven't done before". This could be a nice challenge for some of us.

There is no such thing as weave ownership. If someone produces a weave sample, they own that physical piece of mail, but not rights to the weave pattern itself.

Lorraine, the aviation theme has been seconded on last page:

Not square wire and twisted rings only?

I'll second aviation.

For the pet one, would putting maille on a stuffed animal work for those of us who are without pets, or have a cat unwilling to be a model?

Whatever the theme ends up being, each person gets to interpret it the way they want to, so yes, your idea of a stuffed animal would work just fine. Smile

you could always make a shirt and have a picture of you wearing it while admirers pet and generally fawn over you.
