Northeast Maille Fest 2013 - Year Eleven!

Hey all,

The dates are set, and the facilities are reserved! NMF this year will be held on August 10th at the same awesome facility as last year.

Northeast Maillefest is a weekend of socialization and maillemaking with old friends, new friends, and friends you haven't met yet. We camp, we eat, we make maille, we talk maille, we show off maille, sometimes we model maille...

We return, this year, to the ironically named Frosty Acres, in Scenic Duanesburg, Upstate New York. We'll be three hours' drive from New York and Boston, four and a half hours from Buffalo, and five hours from Montreal, so you can plan a trip around the event too.

We will have facilities for camping the nights before and after, and the event will be held in their most awesome poolside pavilion. You can come and camp, or just visit for the big day on Saturday. In addition to all the metal-bending, they have loads of activities, like canoeing, fishing, a rec hall/arcade, bocci and horseshoe courts, three ponds, a beach, and of course the pool (which we'll be literally 20 feet from!).

The facility's prices have not changed, so I'm going to just declare last year's prices to still be valid (may decrease with more attendees):

Camping: $20 per person (two nights! Sorry, it's required even if you only use one)
Event $37 per person

Details on payment/reservations to follow, but respond here to get on the list of people to be poked when such things are in motion!

I'll try to show up. The biggest problem would be my age, 14. It's difficult to convince your parents to drive you 200 miles, after all.

Tell them they're welcome, too! They can get their own private campsite, if they're worried about safety, and there's loads of activities for them!

It would be neat to meet you all in person. Its a long drive from Minneapolis. I just have to sort some things out first.

Make a road-trip of it. Plan a whole week!

I wonder if I can talk my (non-mailling) husband and kid into this? Hmmm....

Just plan a camping weekend, tell them you heard about this lovely little campsite, and come maille all day!

So $57 total for the weekend? Going to do my best to make it (finally!) even though that is still really close to DragonCon.

ETA: Are small, well-behaved doggies allowed at this campground?

From their site:

Sweet. I missed that on their site. I can handle that.
