Beeing from Norway, my first encounter with maille was the jewlery we call "Wiking Jewlery". I attended a course learning the old traditional patterns, and got seriously hooked.

After learning the basics, I started searhing for other patterns and found this site - and I absolutely love it!

About me: Im 53 years old, married with two daugthers and three grandchildren.

welcome anne! i think this is the best website for learning chainmaille. it has the largest weave library and very useful info. it's also great for connecting to other people who love chainmaille. i've been doing chainmaille for 17 years, but i only found this website 3 years ago. i'm still continuously learning more about this wonderful art.

Welcome and please feel free to ask questions when ever you have them. More importantly please share what you make with us. I would be really interested in seeing the Viking Jewelry you have made.

Hello Anne and welcome to the forums. I'd also love to see some of the traditional patterns you mentioned.
