Theme: weave that fits pre-existing links

This is in the spirit of the "spare links" idea, without the links actually having to be "spare". Because as a newbie, I don't have "spare" links lying around, and I still want to participate.

I don't completely understand what this means.

I think that would be fun.

Darn, I was trying to be clear.

In the discussion about "spare rings", one of the things mentioned was that it was more challenging (for the original poster) because they normally decided on a project and then made the links to fit the weave, whereas using his "spare" links meant that the links were pre-made and he would have to decide on a weave to fit the links, rather than making the links to fit the weave.

Suggestion: Weaves that have no gallery submissions

I think this was proposed sometime in the past, but I forget when.

Does anyone have a list of such weaves?

Not that I know of, but you can just click on a weave in the library and it will either show linked gallery items using the weave or say "None! Please consider submitting one!"

Also my suggestion was for like 1-2 contests ago with "limited" gallery submissions (2 or fewer), just to get past the sample patches that some people make.

while(!project.isFinished())
project.addRing();

I'm not sure what this means or how to phrase it for the theme contest.

Delete it. It's too confusing for everybody. Sad

No it's not, just re-phrase it Smile

kerravonsen - just because a theme is suggested, doesn't mean we'll do it. We still have to vote!

I probably won't vote for a "spare rings" theme or anything like it because I, like the Lord of Chainmailia, would have an unfair advantage. And that's no fun.

I second rainbow and put forth my own suggestion, "New weave." As in, the contestant has to be the one who came up with the pattern(s) used in the item. And probably in addition, it should be a pattern that hasn't seen the light of day yet here on MAIL.

Well, that's going to be a small contest if it wins the theme.

Well I've been thinking and thinking about a theme. I didn't want to be too vauge or to restrictive. So I have a statement, THIS IS HARD!! Lol!

I have decided though, that "multiple weaves" would be a good theme. Pieces that intergrate more than one weave into one item.
