We could just get on with this contest as usual, and that would also take any time-pressure off DL to get the new system running... Besides, I am too eager to hear Kim's (challenging?) idea!

After the hubaloo over the last contest... I'm going to request that we sit on the brainstorming until I'm done the new scripts.
I'm not eager to see dissension on a site that is so near and dear to me...

Also, the more time people have to come up with brilliant ideas, the more chance that this first contest using the new system will be phenomenal!!!

Don't worry folks, there'll be a contest soon enough Wink Just use this extra warm up time as a sort of "Spring Training"... Break out those rings, and make some things!

That being said, I'm nowhere near ready with script for a new contest, so this thread can stay open a good while longer yet...
Hopefully we lead to some great ideas come contest time!

In five days we've upgraded from "Nowhere near ready" to "soon enough". We just need to surpass "in two shakes of a lamb's tail" and we will have made it.

There is no such thing as weave ownership. If someone produces a weave sample, they own that physical piece of mail, but not rights to the weave pattern itself.

Thanks Lorraine.
Btw, not to take over the thread but could I get one simple clear answer as to how you quote properly? When I try to do it, it always just says ‘‘quote’’ instead of ‘‘(who I'm quotings name) wrote’’.

Instead of hitting the reply button at the bottom, instead go to the post you want to quote. At the upper right corner is a quote button. A reply box with the quote already in it will pop up.

If that's what you are already doing, then it may have something to do with how you have encoding set in your browser. You can type in quote tags yourself if you want. Open the quote with the word quote in brackets like these [ ] and end the quote with /quote in brackets.

To follow up on what lorraine said...
Ensure your Character Encoding in the browser is set to Auto Select... Any overrides selected can cause errant data (Like those a's with accents and Euro signs showing up in your post) instead of the intended characters.

Human societies are like chain mail.
A single link will be worth nothing.
A chain is of use, but will break at the weakest link.
A weak weave will have the need to replace weak links.
A strong weave will survive even with weak links included.
