I'm looking to use a captive weave of some kind, with ball bearings being the captive objects. Any suggestions? I've been playing with Captive Inverted Round, but I think there will either not be enough room, or they will have too large a gap and fall out.

i tried this once and found that i could fill the space with ball bearings, but like you said there is always a gap or it's not symmetrical. i think the main reason why it didn't work well to my liking was because of the way the balls caused the pattern to not bend or bend awkwardly. so, i would end up with a solid piece that had little/no function or when it did bend it looked horrible. the project ended up in the scrap bin.

Holy cow! Why didn't I think of that? Just take the CIR to a 4 instead of a 3! Genius! Thanks for the reply. I think that will work great!
