this weave looks like it can also be assembled by sewing together simple chains.

Does Crotalus behave any differently than Viperscale? If I'm correct it's one very minor construction difference between the two.

It does mention that in the tut and the weave submission.
It does not behave differently really but it does look quite different.

Yep, I just made some following your tut. Crotalus seems to move more toward a sheet than a chain, it's much looser and wider than Viperscale in the same ring size.

Also easily turns into an unholy mess after the first few steps Razz

First of all - great tut Legba.. That's not all that weird, since every photo you make is top quality:>

Now, for my $0.02. Umm.. hate to be a pain in the @, but it seems to me, that Crotalus is no different from the Cobra/Hinge weave. I've compared the photos in the tut with my own Cobra bracelet, made using Tesserex's tutorial for the weave, and it seems the same thing.

Compare:

my Cobra bracelet

What's really funny is that Cobra/Hinge was invented almost simultaneously by Tesserex and Arquen, under two different names. I remember the weaves being submitted over a short period of time, hence the double name. Guess Crotalus would need another "/". Like Cobra/Hinge/Crotalus

for those having trouble with the weave falling apart....I had to make two 1-1-1 pieces and lay them on top of one another and then add the two rings that connect them. I just couldn't do it the easy way. I've decided that I'm keeping that starter made cause I never wanna have to endure starting it again!!! I do have a nice chain going though and it's a fun weave. If only I could make it in a smaller gauge, but that would mean starting it again! Razz

I still can't do viperscale due to it being all sloppy at the beginning. I am not good at weaves like that.

The tut was awesome though Legba!!!

That may well be true. These two pictures show opposite sides of the weaves - the 2-ring parts have different rings on top, but I think if you flipped Cobra over it would look the same as Crotalus. Could you snap another picture of it to be sure?

Yeah another pic would help.
I'm pretty sure this was pointed out before and there was a difference, just a very minor one (could be thinking of something else though).

EDIT: having had a very close look at both submissions, the connections do seem to be different (as least in the sheet versions).

Another pic if you have one please.
