I'm tired of all this hate, so just masturbate!
Stretch your wire straight, roll some rings late,
and tell us what you love, nothing irate Coif Smiley

Here's what I love about chainmail, during my own month( so far) love afair with her.

Having your neighboors come over and "Ohh and ahh" about your chain-maille bracer.

hearing things like this:
"How did you make that"
" You mean you cut each ring seprately!!?"
" You mean you closed each one, one by one, to form this pattern"

*evil grin*
*yesnod*

" hey, can you make me a chain-maille thong?"

* eyes light up, chin wide grin *

" Sure thing Coif Cool Smiley "

Ok that should kick it off. Tell me what you LOVE about maille!

I enjoy the simple act of making the maille. The meditative state induced my weaving one tiny ring after another for hours at a time is great.

Peace.

Things that I love about maille? I like to see the surprise when people see the necklaces and bracelets I wear. A few "wow you made that?" sure help out when you're tired! Oh, and I just love the fact that I can actually say "I made it". It's even better when you get asked to make something.

I like the concept of taking something as mundane as electric fence wire and turning it into an object of beauty.
I love the oooohs and aaaaahs I get when someone who has never seen anything quite like it up close gets to hold an item.
I like the stunned silence I get when they ask where I got it and I say "I made it".
I like the extra money it generates.

Oh. One more thing I love about making maille: BIKINIS! Very Happy

I like the weight and feel of a well tailored garment. I like the way it glimmers, especially in a night club. I like it when total strangers come up and touch it, just to see if it's real.

I kinda like the fact that I am very rarely bored anymore, also that I can make something so unique, everyone knows me for it. I don't mind the money that it makes me, and it's fun to wear it out in public around a bunch of total strangers.
It is also fun to do demos and teach people how; and the funniest part of those is when a little kid comes up and touchesd it, then their mom tells them "careful honey, don't brake it!".

i love making things out of metal regardless of whether it is maille, knives and swords, or just welding. one reason i like making maille is because it is much better than watching TV. With the shows on nowadays, whenever i turn on the TV, i have an intense desire to bounce my head off of a brick wall forty or fifty times. When weaving maille, i can sit there for hours without a single thought of how much people suck, etc.

This is my boring signature. I wrote this because i couldn't think of anything else at the time. It has no point, contains no quotes, and is completely boring. if you read this whole thing you probably have nothing better to do and are probably pretty boring yourself.

I love when I my mandrel recoils on me and whacks my thumb.
No, really, but I like the feel of heavy, cold metal, the massive feeling of wearing maille. Either the classic, brutal looks of E4-1 or the wonderful, dense look of E6-1.
I love when I can smack a friend with my axe and he asks me to hit him harder.
One Night Of Boozing we got a bit carried away, my drinking pals and I sent around a bottle of Krushnohorsky (tastes bad, I?m serious) and my maille coif. Everyone was supposed to wear the coif and have a sip of Krushnohorsky. Booze makes You sooo stupid. But it was fun.

One thing I love about maille is the "untouchability factor". One time, I was punished by my parents for something, and they took away my videogame systems and maille. About an hour or two later that night, I got my maille back to work on. I love the fact that maille can't really be denied to someone that loves it.
