As far as the Punk/Goth issue, IMHO they are pretty much interchangeable... Bulky, lots of spikes, often dark....

I read somewhere that the goth "movement" grew out of the punk "movement". Whatever the hell that means. I'll never understand either, I'm sure.

I made a 1/4" 18 SWG Euro 4-in-1 Box bracelet for my wife, but she doesn't like it (though she'll never admit it) because it's too bulky. My daughter, on the other hand, prefers bulky bracelets. Go figure.

A lot of teenage girls seem to like masculine stuff, like the bulkiness. I hope I'll never see the day where a girl wears huge gold necklaces hanging to her waist...

Does that make me... "girly"?

Why not fight in 12g, it works for me? With protection accorting to the rules of course... Coif Smiley

Don't forget, sometimes the proportions of the wearer determine whether something looks awkward on them or not.
A 5' 4" girl weighing 100lbs would look awkward wearing a 1" wide 14ga 3/8" bracelet, however, a 6' 4" 320lbs guy would make that same item look kinda small on him. It's all subjective.
Look in the mirror. Does the bracelet look a little too delicate on you? Does your friend who is telling you it looks feminine have more punk tastes than you? There are several factors involved, making the distinction between female vs. male jewelry difficult to quantify.

Wear what you like, let them eat cake.

It all boils down to opinion. Even if it looks awkward on them, proportion-wise, someone can still like it. The human mind is in itself a variable. There is nothing else to it, other than "I like that, it's cool."

Bottom line don't try to make something and expect a certain person/group to like it.

Im 6"5' and I weigh 346pounds (no fat anymore Very Happy ) And I usually wear gigantic neklaces in darkened galvy. my smallest necklace that I wear is 555 grams.
As for bracelets i never wear them, I always have a bracer.
Lately I've been walking around in a S.S. plate bracer with maille closings.

Duh Of course I take concealed knives to school. j/k

I always had my knives on me, I feel naked without them and there were always fights at my school.
The knives showed only a bit and they were almost a foot long .
only the handle showed. (I usually wear quite sturdy black leather boots.)
you'd be surprised about the effectiveness of having a knife show a bit from your boot that you are not to be messed with. Coif LoL Coif LoL
