I'll do the e-mail. I have the time.

What exactly should it say though? I figured I could just give them the gist of what we want to do, followed by some questions.

What questions whould we ask? I came up with some, but I'm sure there're more.

-What are the guide lines?
-What are the details we need to get? i.e. #of people, locations, etc.
-Is there already a record in this category? If so, what is it?

That's all I've got.

Let me know if you guys have any ideas. I'd like to make this e-mail as clear as possible to make the process easier and faster.

I didn't see anyone respond to this question. Will we be doing left-handed or right-handed, and how do we determine which is which?

Thomas,

Someone said, not long ago, that we'd use the tutorial here on M.A.I.L. as our guide. Sounds like a peachy idea to me. Smile

i did a search on Guiness's web page and coulden't find anything resembuling what we here are about to attempt. (unless you count the aluminum chain made of soda cans..lol) The longest chain ever made is 1000 of feet long. we will have to make it some other sort of title than that (but we alredy knew that...i know...echo...echo..)

ok.. a few things... THERE IS A LEFT AND RIGHT 3-1 WEAVE!!!!! and they cannot be joined as far as i could come up with... i propose we all use bative's method for it, which is this 1 http://www.mailleartisans.org/articles/articledisplay.cgi?key=6207

also, in the name, includee the name of the weave. "longest hand made half persian 3-1 chain"

anothing thing. that ring size which was posted earlier.. someone give the sizes in a range of sizes eg swg, awg, and metric!

and 1 more thing... i would like to participate, but im not sure about the cost to send it all to wherever its meant to be sent to... i dont have a lot of money, and i doubt my parents will pay for it.....

you all laugh cuz im different. i laugh cuz your all the same

we could always just make it long enough where we can just roll it across the ocean. j/k

Hocky i nominate you to be president of this thing because you keep locking all the precious info inside your head!!
i think we should use bative's tutorial. that way all the credit goes to M.A.I.L. Very Happy
but yeah. i think the typical method is the right-handed one. you would need to mirror those images to make a lefty model.

question! are we only allowed to start after feb. 1st? i could start now...
also, do we even know if this project will get through?

should we plague them with reguest e-mails?

If you are going to use 5/16 rings make it hp4in1, it is a cooler more stable pattern and you dont have to worry about the left/right thing.

Those who want HP 4in1 say... i

If you do not change the pattern atleast make the ring size smaller, 1/4in(6.35mm) is a much better size for hp3in1 in .063(1.58mm) wire.

Making the ring size smaller will make the pattern apper much better than the lose jumble of rings you are planning on making... Razz Razz

Just a quick note, HP4in1 still has a right and left handed version. Every HP weave has them both.
As an on topic, I won?t be participating in anything like this due to shipping issues from Israel.

Cheers, Eli I
