Upcycling. Take "junk" and turn it into something better. In this case it would probably either mean non-standard rings (maybe even something like fabric scraps made into circles and woven like maille) or scrap items used as scales or accents.

This would give me an unfair advantage, as I have over one million spare rings (maybe two) in over 1000 types. I would be only limited to the total number of any given type, but even if I ran out of one, in certain cases I could shift to the next 128th of an inch above and/or below to finish something off, or pick a different metal type in the same size, etc...

That's how it is in Chainmailia, the land of chainmail. Needlenose Pliers

You know ye old and much venerated basket...... My eyes may deceive me but that looks to me like a stated assumption of an easy victory. It may not be a case of how many links you use, but how you use them.......

I didn't mean it in that way, although I can see how it could possibly be read as such. I'm just saying, y'know, there are many many many spare rings 'round these parts eh. Coif Smiley

There is no such thing as weave ownership. If someone produces a weave sample, they own that physical piece of mail, but not rights to the weave pattern itself.

How do we all get residence in Chainmailia? Coif LoL

We build a bigger Chainmailia.

Theme: Seasons

Recycling a theme that someone else proposed in the brainstorming session for a previous theme-contest. I like the idea. Whether it be the turn of the seasons, all four seasons, a particular season...

Hey, if you have an advantage I see nothing wrong with you using it. Makes the rest of us work harder. Very Happy
I have some concern with this "spare rings" theme: what exactly is a spare ring?
Hm. You're right--the term is ambiguous. I'd say put it up, and let the Vox Populum decide if it counts or not.

I like the spare ring idea.

How about money. You can use the money from your area and incorporate it into your maille.

Suggestion: Weaves that have no gallery submissions

I think this was proposed sometime in the past, but I forget when.
