I noticed that a question was being asked what to do as a first piece, i thought i might float the question of what was everyones first piece? (and no a small square, chain doesn't count unless it was 'something')

Euro 4-1, 14ga 1/2'ID Galvy coif. It featured an expanding row cap, a large bishop's mantle, and a decorative dag with hanging chains.

As in the first pice that was actually something you could use?

I think it was a 14 ga euro 4-1 bracelet with some side rings Laughing
The first pice of all was 16 ga euro 4in1 out of that black wire crap. I hate that stuff Very Happy

A shirt - I'm not sure of the gauge, but probably around 8-10 gauge, 1/2" rings. I wore it with my kilt one Halloween, took at least 140 hours of work, but I got it done in two weeks, just in time. Must have weighed at least 25-30 pounds. Probably about 5000 rings.

I gave it away to a friend that Christmas.

GO JUGGLING BALLS!!!

I placed a hacky-sack inside a pair of expanding E4n1's, 16gu 3/8ths inch id. with this, i'd join them into a hacky-sack. the circumferance was 16 rings, i was sure to double-ring the openings where it was a single instance of 8n1

I've made bracelets, chokers, belts, neck-ties, and am working on a vest.

My first peice was a vest with dags that hung over the shoulders a bit, followed by several small things like a dice bag, a belt, a mantle, several necklaces, etc

Thug,

Depends on what you consider a real project. My watch chain was technically my first project. But my first "real" project was my 16 gague, 1/4" galvanized steel coif.

Peace,

Matt

'Tis true my form is something odd,
But blaming me is blaming God;
Could I create myself anew
I would not fail in pleasing you.
If I could reach from pole to pole
Or grasp the ocean with a span,
I would be measured by the soul;
The mind's the standard of the man.
