From a total *newbie*, so please forgive any gaffes in terminology.

I understand the concept of aspect ratio (AR)and know how to calculate it. What I am less clear about at this point, however, are the "look" and "feel" of the results of using a given AR and a given weave.

Ahh, if I only had myriad rings and lots of free time I could just try them all Smile ...

But, let's just say there was this great group of folks who collectively may have done the equivalent of this already. If they could just help a neophyte compile a database by submitting their experience, then any other newbie (not to mention the rest of the world) would have a great resource for all.

Feel like helping? If so, this is what I've thought would be helpful to know:
1. a fixed weave
2. accurate AR measurement
3. quantifiable measurements to describe the results
4. consistent descriptors to define "look" and "feel"

Here's a possible example:
1. weave: full persian
2. AR: 5.11
3. ????
4. "dense"; "moderately flexible"

Here's another:
1. weave: full persian
2. AR: 6.64
3. ????
4. "dense"; "flexible"

This kind of information would be useful to me for sure in choosing a particular AR for a particular application.

Comments? Ideas?

Thanks for the URL. This is "in the neighborhood" of what I was thinking and it will make a good start. I wish it was more detailed, though...those items I'm interested in including, for example.

BTW, this site also had a "Recommended Ring Size" page that was a helpful complement to the other URL.
