if you are new to mailling, I can suggest 18g 3/8" rings

very versatile and strong enough to hold themselves together

can make a vast amount of different weaves right off the bat too

first of all, if it does start to swell, becomes increasingly painful, and the pain starts to migrate up your hand and arm you should definitely seek medical attention, especially with a cut so close ...

well, aluminum is not a ferrous metal, iron is only in blood... I'm sure copper, aluminum, titanium, vanadium, silver, etc has no "metal" smell due to the fact that it lacks the ferrous ions ...
