My first chainmaille project was an 8" by 8" sheet of E 8-1. But, I was using 20ga 3/16" rings. It took FOREVER.

I just did the exact same thing with the exact same rings. It took me 458 rings to finish. I suggest that you get a few more just in case you lose one or something like that.
