It looks like he used a larger/thicker wire for rings to connect the scales together and a thinner/smaller wire for connecting the EPDM rings. I would suggest to get the scales and then experiment an ...

Very nice job. I have used a jewelers saw or hand cut something like this before. Takes time, but it is worth the extra work.

If you look at some of CMB's gallery submissions for weaves he has a great format that helps me to approve them faster. If you use a format like that it will help me out greatly.
