if you are -really- in tuscon, i'll bet you can find a saw there pretty inexpensively. remember to compress the frame slightly when you put the blade in, to keep it taught.

I would steer clear of gold plate. It chips off VERY easily. Buy gold-filled and you will never have to worry about it. And I second the jeweler's saw! JPL looks fantastic in thick wire.
