I'm allowed to stray from the pattern, it just has to look same-ish. The client is more interested in the chunky look than the exact weave.

Wow, that's cool! So it looks like there is a hole in the bottom/top. Did you drain out the EGG? it seems like this would be a bad Idea in a sense of the maille crushing it?
