with 14gauge, 1/4" will be too small.. 5/16" should work. If that does get tricky, 3/8" will work for sure.

some fabrication suppliers will have it, it's used for electroplating (to make steel galvinized) I'm not sure if it's commercially available though..

I agree with the previous post. After working down to smaller and smaller things, I'd have to say I wouldn't consider it micro until you hit the 1/16" mark..
