Well, I broke down and bought the genuine Jump Ringer and find that it has problems unique to it as well. This is just a narrative of my experiences so far with both cutting systems.

I agree, bubble-wrap will stop the rattle and protect the item. The boxes are cute, I would supply them flat for the recipient to make up. Nice touch!
