Elfin
Article © MAIL User: Corvus

Elfin is very like Elfweave in its construction. An AR of 4 - 4.5 is ideal but for the purposes of this tutorial, I'm using 1.2mm bright aluminum 5mm ID and 1mm copper 5mm ID (AR of 4.1 & AR of 5). You don't need two ring sizes, it was just easier to show how the weave is made with two colours.

Step 1.
Start with a 1in1 chain double the length you want the finished chain.

Step 2.
Fold the chain over, leaving a single ring at the top we call this ring 'Bob'.

Step 3.
Squeeze the two rings after 'Bob' together and overlap the next two. Then pass an open ring down through one of the overlapping rings, through the two squeezed rings and up through the second overlapping ring. Like this.

Close it.

Step 4.
Spread the next two rings apart and put an open ring through the two eyes marked in green, like this.

Close it.

Repeat Steps 3 & 4 until you have the length you want.

Top/bottom of chain looks like this.

Side looks like this.
