European 4 in 1 on the Bias

First you need to familiarize yourself with European 4 in 1 (CGI; ribbon).
OK start a ribbon the width you want the finished piece to be. Add one extra ring to the top most ring and one extra to the bottom like this (green arrows pointing):
Now open and close some rings, have the same number of each (this piece is 5 rings wide so there are 5 open rings and 5 closed rings).
Add an open ring with 2 closed rings on it to the ring with the green arrow.
Add an open ring with 1 closed ring on it to the 2 rings with the green arrows.
Keep doing this until you get to the last row, then just add one open ring (no closed ones). It should look like this.
Repeat until you reach the required length.
