(Technical name: Centre Locked Spiral)
There once was a weave here called "Beadlock Spiral", which, as one might expect, used beads as a structural element. This is an attempt to reproduce that weave using standard rings.
Structurally, this is a 2 in 1 Chain with the addition of smaller links in Around-the-Eye connections which lock the chain into a spiral. The smaller the aspect ratio of the small rings, the fewer rings are needed to lock the spiral. With an AR close to two, only one ring is needed. When the AR of the small links increases, more rings are needed to lock the spiral. This is a trade-off in flexibility; using one locking ring of very small AR tends to bind up when flexed in the wrong way, because there is very little play in the small rings. Using more rings with a little higher AR gives it more fluidity of movement.
Close to this weave in structure is Daisy Chain 0, but that weave uses rings all of the same size, rather than using a mix of large and small rings. Another close weave is Voodoo but instead of creating a 4-ring Mobius ball and expanding the weave outward from there into a sheet, you only interlock two rings and expand the length (adjusting the lean of the new rings so that when locked in place they cause the chain to spiral). In honour of this, I call this "Bellis Bondye", after "Bellis perennis", the scientific name for daisy (and because "bellis" means "pretty" in Latin), and after "Bondye" (bon = good + dye = god) the creator deity of the Voodoo religion.
The samples were made by ElementalDragon using 14SWG galvanized steel rings, and 12AWG copper rings.
14SWG is nominally .08" (2.032mm) and 12AWG is nominally .0808" (2.05232mm). So the wire diameters are quite close in size.
