Information: Northeast Maillefest is a chainmail crafters convention, open to everyone. It is held yearly, historically the last Saturday in July. It takes place in the glorious natural surroundings of Thacher State Park in upstate New York, overlooking the astonishing Helderberg Escarpment. It's just a bunch of maillers getting together in a location central to the northeast to compare notes, show/explain/brag about their wares, and have some fun. Be prepared to make A LOT of maille, if past years are any indication. Bring anything you like, machinery, tools, jewelry, armor... We want to see it all! (we're still open to having workshops, by the way. If you have a request, email Blaise and he'll try to find a volunteer...) The Fest itself will be all day Saturday (9 AM til dusk) at Thatcher State Park. We will have a picnic shelter, complete with barbecue apparatus and activities (hiking, ball field, volleyball court, etc...). We will have campgrounds reserved less than three miles from the picnic shelter both the night before and the night after, for inexpensive accommodations. Plan on a bonfire at the sites after we get kicked out of the shelter!
