DescriptionMaille Coif - 8th/14th Centuries. From the 10th century onwards the coif was worn on top of a cerviller (metal cap) as the head was considered to be the most vulnerable part of the body and had to be well protected. The coif was a very important part of the head defense, protecting not only the head, but also the neck and the shoulders. The coif continued to be worn until the mid-14th Century.Weave(s) Used (Click to View Weave)NoneImages Tags (Click to Search Gallery)Tag(s): Armour, Coif, Head |
