DescriptionChausses (leggings) - 8th/ 14th Centuries. Made to protect the legs especially the knees, which where also sometimes protected by leather kneecaps. The leggings where strapped to a belt usually worn on top of the Braies, a form of medieval underwear, and also strapped an inch below the knees in order to form a bag at the knee to allow movement. The leggings usually had a pair of thick leather soles incorporated, so that the knight could walk with ease.Weave(s) Used (Click to View Weave)NoneImages Tags (Click to Search Gallery)Tag(s): Armour, Chausses, Legs |
