There's nothing more informative than to be able to corner somebody with experience and nail them with questions.  To that end, we've made this page to allow you to chat with us.  Don't worry if we're not ALWAYS talking about maille, we will come back to it soon enough.

In the first box below type the name you'd like to be known as.  The other two boxes should be filled out properly already, so just hit the 'connect' button.  Note that this only works with browsers that support JavaScript.  If you'd like to use an IRC connection program such as pIRCh or mIRC, the required info will be at the bottom of the page.

You may be asked to approve a script to run (depending on how secure your browser is).  Tell it yes.  Don't worry, we've no interest in crashing your machine, so it's secure.  If the new window opens up but doesn't do anything after a minute or two, don't fret.  Just hold down your shift button and hit refresh, that should do it.  Barring that, closing the window and hitting connect again will do the trick.

A few things to expand your experience:

• Double click a person's name (on the list to the right) to open up a private chat with them.

• type /me something (for instance, does a little dance) to speak in the third person.  It looks like this: 
  >Ringlet does a little dance.

• Feel free to change the color you speak in.  Individuality is good!  Just click the color you want in the box to the right of the window that will pop up.

• Lose the ALL CAPS.  It's considered yelling, and it's rude to yell all the time.

• Have fun!  This is a conversation, and all work sucks.  Yet don't feel like you can't interrupt the joviality with a question about the art and industry of maille.

• Sometimes the messages will get cut off on ya.  If that happens, close the window and hit connect again.  Maximize the window before it's finished loading and it shouldn't happen again (kudos to Second Hand Hippie for figuring that one out for us!)
