Hi guys!

Here's my first chainmail tie! All made of stainless steel, it weigths 3/4 lbs, which is quite heavy (I will want to change the tie part to Titanium some day) but it's well worth the cool factor!

Main part is 18g 5/32", knot is 18g 7/32" with some 18g 1/4", and the straps are 18g 3/16".

I'd love to hear your comments on this one!

Back of the knot

Thanks!

Wow! Great job, especially on the knot!

Gnarly tie, the knot especially.
What weaves did you use?

Looks to me like European 4 in 1 for the main part, and Half Persian 3 Sheet 6 in 1 for the knot.

Yes exactly. The knot is HP3-1 Sheet 6, joined by 3/4 Persian, as explained by Phong's tutorial.

Straps are E6-1, and I've attached them with a little half segment of byz.

My next project will be to try my hand at an inlay similar to the tie knot, representing the 2 logos of TRANSFORMERS! How cool will it be?

That, sounds awesome!
Would it be like two ties or kind of a splitscreen effect?

i just got done making a tie. i used 17AWG 1/4 ID aluminum. the knot on yours is excellent. i just kinda forced a sheet of 3-1 persian to bend.

Of course I have. You ever tried going mad without power? It's boring. No one listens to you!

Awsome work. The weave is clean and symetrical, and well formed. The material was well chosen in stainless, and the integration of the weaves helped the whole thing flow together.

And you look like the lead singer from Godsmack. :p
