After being inspired by this thread ...

http://www.mailleartisans.org/board/viewtopic.php?t=9308

I decided to make a roundmaille collar with the twist ...
Its 0.85mm Galvy with a 3.8mm ID and the rows are offset by 3
so the sheet of 4 in 1 looks like this before it is joined back on itself

((((((
))))))
(((((
)))))
((((
<joining>

here are the results Coif Smiley

Collar in it's normal (twisted) form

Collar in it's 'straight' form (twisting it to counter the offset)

Collar open showing the transition from twist to straight

Thanks Legba3 Smile

Hey I inspired someone! Cool!

It's very nice BTW. Very Happy

Is it just me or does it look a bit like Turkish Round?

Very cool Very Happy

It does look kind of like turkish round in the first picture, just more bunched together.

I have yet to do turkish round, I'll see if I can post a close-up when I get the chance, I really enjoyed this weave, far more than standard roundmaille, though I think it needs more experimentation with ARs.

Thanks for the possitive comments Smile
